Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who are you?

Our team at Walker Covey Wealth Advisors has over 30 years of experience supporting clients through their financial decisions. We founded this firm on complete trust in each other and with our clients. We rely on each other’s strengths and are confident that every member of our team will take incredible care of our clients throughout the planning process.

Q: Who are your clients?

We work with people of all ages and in various stages of their financial journey. From retirees to multigenerational families along with business owners and widows, we are here to support, educate and guide you as you navigate your financial future.

Q: Why should I partner with you?

We are committed to our clients and value a mutual trust. We practice “principled investing”, a fundamental, solid approach to investing instead of having a reactionary approach based on what’s happening in the news or what the latest trends are. And when you do have a question, we work as a team to be responsive, so you get the attention you deserve.

Q: How do I pay for your services?

We are fee-based fiduciary advisors in advisory relationships. We charge a fee based off how many assets you have under management.

Q: Who is your broker dealer?

LPL Financial (Nasdaq: LPLA) was founded on the principle that the firm should work for the advisor, and not the other way around. Today, LPL is a leader* in the markets we serve, supporting more than 18,000 financial advisors, 800 institution-based investment programs and 450 independent RIA firms nationwide. We are steadfast in our commitment to the advisor-centered model and the belief that Americans deserve access to personalized guidance from a financial advisor. At LPL, independence means that advisors have the freedom they deserve to choose the business model, services, and technology resources that allow them to run their perfect practice. And they have the freedom to manage their client relationships, because they know their clients best. Simply put, we take care of our advisors, so they can take care of their clients. Q: Where will my assets be held, and how safe will they be?

As a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member firm, subject to the federal securities laws and the rules of industry self regulatory organizations, LPL Financial prioritizes its obligations to protect client assets in their custody with the utmost care and scrupulous adherence to financial protection rules, including those governing the segregation of client assets.

LPL provides an enormous catalog of services and resources, as well as a long history of financial stability. The LPL Financial SIPC Membership provides account protection up to a maximum of $500,000 per customer, of which $250,000 may be claims for cash. An explanatory brochure is available at www.sipc.org. Additionally, through London Insurers, LPL Financial accounts have additional securities protection to cover the net equity of customer accounts up to an overall aggregate firm limit of $750,000,000 subject to conditions and limitations. The account protection applies when a SIPC member firm fails financially and is unable to meet obligations to securities clients, but it does not protect against losses from the rise and fall in the market value of investments.
